The mission of the Project quality Manager starts from the Contract Review phase (M1.1) to the End of Warranty phase (M7). Located in the platform project as project core team member, at global level; he/she is accountable of the quality targets of the project:

  • Manages operationally a network of Project Quality Engineers
  • Set project quality targets
  • Lead the project quality activities
  • Ensure the project interface with Customer/Siscos for all Quality related matters
  • Represent the project in the Quality network and the Quality network inside the project
  • Contribute to the project activities according to APQP requirements
  • Monitor and control the conformity on Development processes versus the APQP requirements
  • Monitor and report the project quality KPIs and propose a recovery plan in case of deviation


Ø Manages operationally a network of Project Quality Engineers

Ø Set project quality targets

Ø Ensure Interface with the customer and involved Siscos for all quality related matters (Communicate to the customer 8D or PDCA FTA including those issued by Siscos)

Ø Participate actively to project team reviews

Ø Ensure that project is created in the APQP tool before the project launch and during the Contract Review phase

Ø Ensure that the configuration of APQP milestones inside the APQP tool is compliant with the project ABC classification and with the quality standard

Ø Ensure that the project data in the APQP tool are regularly updated by the project team members (Milestone dates, Project key dates, Project team members, Tasks, Open Item lists, QRQC, R&O, CDRL, etc).

Ø For each Gate Review, prepare with team all necessary activities to ensure readiness of required deliverables and of all necessary evidences to ease PVC (Projects Validation Committee) decision

Ø Monitor and Report the project quality KPIs available in the APQP tool and propose an actions plan in case of deviation

Ø Escalate to the Global Project Manager any quality issue encountered during the project execution and whenever blocking points are identified

§ Main responsibilities (continue):

Ø Manage and keep up to date the critical characteristics file for each concerned product

Ø Ensure that Design Standards are respected and that critical characteristics are applied and respected

Ø Ensure, when applicable, that critical characteristics are transferred to Suppliers through the SQR (Supplier Quality Requirements)

Ø Ensure link between product/process FMEA and monitoring plan

Ø Verify that Lessons Learned are used in the D/P FMEA

Ø Perform, Share and Check that LLC (Lessons Learned Card) are well applied and respected

Ø Participate to Design reviews including suppliers ones and challenge the Design

Ø Define and drive Control Plan for prototype, pre,-serial and serial products

Ø Define, monitor and control the project's quality improvement plan (Quality Improvement Plan)

Ø Update the control plan and any other concerned document (quality monitoring tools/records) following product/process modification or problem solving

Ø Ensure that any change request (ECR/PCR) is managed according to the internal (ECR/PCR) procedure and update the quality related documents accordingly

Ø Support Quality and Purchasing activities related to initial samples delivered by suppliers

Ø Lead the pre-FAI and FAI (Internal or/and Customer). In case of non conformity, open and lead corresponding Project QRQC or PDCA-FTA

Ø Manage Quality documentations and ensure customer deliverables including those received from Siscos (Project Quality Plan, Manufacturing Control Plan, Validation Plan, APQP, Customer portal (eg. Alstom SPQD), etc.)

Ø When applicable, translate (language, template, etc.), submit and obtain customer approval for any concession request received from Siscos; follow the closure of the concession.

Ø Ensure that all project issues are listed in the Open Items List

Ø Check that all issues affecting the project are managed with the right methodologies (QRQC, PDCA-FTA) and that the proposed analysis and solution respect Faiveley and Customer quality standards

Ø Participate to the project QRQC and ensure the use of QRQC material/rules by project team members

Ø Drive and/or participate to the QRQC, at department and site level, following internal or external incidents

Ø Anticipate and make alerts on internal non-conformities and open QRQC on design/process validation issues

Ø Initiate PDCA FTA in case of test failures due to design, product or process issues

Ø Record in FIM, any quality issue received from Customer and communicate it to all sites involved

Ø Ensure customer incident management from design to project closure

Ø Analyze rejected products and define associated actions plan

Ø Support local teams in the issues resolution

Ø Ensure a smooth running of customer visits

Ø Participate in auditing process and ensure its smooth running and follow-up


  • Engineering degree
  • Quality tools (QRQC, 8D, PDCA FTA, FMEA, Audit, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Project Management
  • Experience in Projects Management, as Project Manager or Project Core Team Member
  • 5 years in Quality (Project, Warranty, Production)
