Overall Job Objective

Job Responsibilities

This position is located at: 

Lexington County Community MHC
Adult Services Clinic
301 Palmetto Park Blvd.
Lexington, SC  29072

Under general supervision of the Medical Director, provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services for clients of the Lexington County Community Mental Health Center.

Provides psychiatric treatment of clients to include, but not limited to, interviewing, examining, diagnosing, prescribing medications, and treating clients with a broad spectrum of mental health diagnosis.  Maintain or exceed 840 hours annually of direct client services.  Participate in treatment planning process with therapist and other service providers.  Performing consultations with other clinical professionals, physicians, or specialists as appropriate to effectively treat the client.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirements:  Licensed to practice medicine in S.C.

DMH Requirements:  Licensed to practice medicine in SC; completion of required residency in psychiatry and 2 years direct patient care experience.
Board Certification in psychiatry strongly preferred, and is required for certified classes.
