JOB SUMMARY Inergy is currently recruiting dynamic and energetic engineering talent to join our quality department. The Quality Engineer is responsible for the establishment, implementation and maintenance of effective systems ensuring Quality Standards that meet or exceed customer requirements. Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints. Unusual hours and travel may be required. This is a salaried, exempt position.
Professionals with automotive systems, process, industrial, product development and quality engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Seeks new methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness through leading or participating in process improvement teams. 2. Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external customers. 3. Coaches and guides the core project development team members in the use of quality tools, methods and standards. 4. Leads core project team in the pursuit of Advance Product Quality Planning. 5. Represents the Quality function during engineering change approval process through the first phase of production. 6. Provides input from the quality perspective on design reviews (platform and project related). 7. Actively promotes and participates in continuous improvement and corrective action for all processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to maintain working relationships with internal and external customers 2. Professional verbal and written communication skills (English required) 3. Ability to collect, maintain and analyze data using required Quality Tools 4. Knowledge of automotive product development required; Fuel Systems preferred 5. Technical Skills with fuel systems development and production knowledge preferred 6. Ability to read and understand measurement methods and gauging techniques 7. Ability to read blueprints; knowledge of GD&T principles 8. PPAP, FMEA, APQP, Control Plan, Measurement Systems Analysis knowledge. 9. Knowledge of QS/TS requirements and procedures preferred.
