Employee will prepare, issue and maintain Medical Records:
Retrieve and issue medical records for upcoming appointments
Retrieve and re-file medical records
Repair and maintain medical records
Prepare new files for new patients
Copy documents as requested
Receive documents for files from staff and patients
File in accordance with filing system already in place
Answer questions about files from service members, retirees and dependents
Take phone calls concerning records; refer to appropriate party
Skills and knowledge need to perform this job:
Education one year above high school with courses related to the occupation
General experience - administrative and or clerical work in a hospital environment dealing with patient affairs and medical record maintenance.
Specialized experience two years experience with knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to medical record maintenance.
Must complete HIPAA training within 30 days of employment
Must have current two step PPD immunization prior to employment
Must have an active background check prior to starting work.
This is a full time temporary position
