Overview:

We are currently seeking an IMPAX Data Center (IDC) Deployment Specialist to join our deployment and support team.

The Impax Data Center Deployment Specialist is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing and upgrade of Agfa s Impax Data Center (IDC) medical imaging repository solution using a combination of on site work, remote work and delegation to local field service employees. This person will assist and advise the Project Manager in building and defining the Work Break Down Structure and schedule development as it relates to technical tasks. They serve as the Configuration Manager and Change Manager for the customer during the entire project lifecycle. They are responsible for opening, tracking and driving resolution for incidents or problems that develop as either project or product issues.

This position may be based out of the following location(s) and surrounding areas:

Waterloo, Canada

Chicago, IL

Dallas, TX

Philadelphia, PA

Responsibilities:

* System Deployment Install and configure IDC components, integrate with various storage systems and network devices, perform metadata migrations, upgrade existing systems to current software versions
* Customer Training Deliver system administrator training to designated customer resources
* Knowledge Transfer - Provides knowledge transfer within the regions, knowledge centers, sales and service organizations
* Project Planning and Technical Documentation Lead role in planning the technical aspects of projects. Write and maintain relevant technical project documentation, including site diagrams, procedures, test plans, and other required project related documents
* Incident Management Provide expert level Incident Management for Agfa s Impax Data Center and Xero products; includes providing on-call support, monitoring installed systems and managing issue escalation to R& D
* Project Support and Transition - Provide full support for go-live implementations, manage transition to service post go-live

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills:

*
Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting distributed applications

* Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 knowledge / performance settings of IIS
* Experience with .NET Framework
* Strong understanding of Load balancer configuration and support
* LDAP experience - Knowledge of active directory, single sign-on methodologies
* Proficient with UNIX, LINUX and Windows operating systems
* Expert knowledge of deploying and supporting X86 and Sun (SPARC) servers.
* A demonstrated understanding of relational databases both Oracle 10 and MSSQL 2005/2008
* Software protocol experience with embedded Java, HTML, xml, ftp, tcp, etc.
* Basic to Advanced networking knowledge
* Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN and NAS) such as EMC, NetApp, StorageTek etc.
* Experience administering computer systems in multi-platform environment
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Team Player with the ability to work and interact with virtual teams.
* Must be eligible to apply for customer initiated background investigations such as the US National Agency Check (NAC)
* Exposure to clinical department workflow
* Proficient in the DICOM, HL7 and IHE domain
* Knowledge of Programming Languages VB/ASP, VB.NET, HTML, XML, DCM4CHEE - is a plus
* Experience in RIS/PACS applications, medical imaging and workflows would be an asset

Education:

Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, MIS, Computer Science preferred, or a combination of relevant experience

Experience:

* 6 years of experience with associated IT technologies
* 3 or more years direct experience deploying or supporting medical IT systems

This is a field position with 20-30% travel required to perform work and meet with clients and other stake holders. Occasional evening and weekend activities may be required to meet project deliverables. Regional and/or international travel will be required to meet with clients and other stake holders.
